This multimodal platform integrates fundus imaging with an ultra-wide field of view (200 degrees in a single scan), wide-angle swept-source OCT (SS-OCT), fundus autofluorescence (FAF), fluorescein angiography and indocyanine angiography.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The technology available at Silverstone creates new possibilities in supporting clinical decision-making and streamlines the research process. Key image data facilitate work and increase the accuracy of diagnoses. A helpful tool is the possibility of simultaneous analysis of peripheral OCT scans and ultra-wide-angle retinal imaging.<\/p>\n<style>.embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }<\/style>\n<div class=\"embed-container\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uGluvngUIpU\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To verify the usefulness of ultra-wide-angle SLO and OCT imaging, a study was carried out on the possibility of peripheral OCT imaging using a novel, integrated SLO (&#8220;Feasibility of peripheral OCT imaging using a novel integrated SLO ultra-widefield imaging swept-source OCT device,&#8221; Simrat device) K. Sodhi, John Golding, Carmelina Trimboli Netan Choudhry; International Ophthalmology (2021)).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a single-center, prospective observation presented at The Macula Society meeting in 2021, 134 eyes were imaged with the Optos Silverstone OCT.\u00a0Scanning laser ophthalmoscope images (optomaps, autofluorescence) and related SS-OCT images were obtained in the posterior pole, at the far or medium circumference (depending on the nature of the patient&#8217;s referral and the areas of interest observed on the wide-angle optomap images during the examination).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A total of 134 eyes (96 patients) were included in the study. 125 eyes (91 patients) with 38 retinal pathologies were prospectively assessed, and 9 eyes (5 patients) were excluded due to incomplete image acquisition. The mean age of the respondents was 54 years (range 21-92 years). Thirty-nine of 125 eyes (31%) had macular pathology. Eighty-six of the 125 eyes (69%) had purely peripheral pathology in an area that cannot be visualized with standard 50-degree OCT devices. Of the 125 photographed eyes, 86 (69%) had pathology present only in the periphery.
