Description
OPMI LUMERA 700 operating microscope from ZEISS is an intuitive and versatile instrument and its technical equipment is among the absolute top. It has a built-in optical coherence tomography (OCT) that allows non-invasive insight into the deep layers and internal structures of the eye. This information is transmitted using a color scale to a three-dimensional 3D image.
With the features integrated into the OPMI Lumera 700, you are optimally prepared for anything: not only for cataract and retinal surgery the next day but also for the future. The system is extremely versatile and, with the appropriate accessories, gives you exactly the tool you need for both anterior and posterior segments.
The OPMI Lumera® 700 offers a true revolution in lighting quality. With Stereo Coaxial Illumination (SCI™). You take advantage of unprecedented recognition of details. The kit includes 0° co-observation with independent magnification and focus control and an image inverter built into the binoculars.
OPMI Lumera 700 is an excellent specialized surgical microscope for all areas of ophthalmic surgery.
This provides:
- SCI (Stereo Coaxial Illumination) for constant brightness: every detail of the patient’s eye becomes visible
- Optimized workflow and maximum ease of use: thanks to Callisto eye and wireless foot control
- Integration: perfect interplay of the Resight fundus monitoring system, Invertertube E and integrated video camera
- Room for operation: cables and extras are included in the system
Carl Zeiss Opmi Lumera 700 is an ophthalmic operating microscope for retinal and glaucoma surgery, cataract and corneal pathologies. Equipped with the integrated Carl Zeiss Rescan 700 OCT imaging system, which allows you to visualize the structures of the eye to the smallest detail and in the correct physiological form. OPMI LUMERA ® 700 is used for several types of operations – gray and green cataracts, and corneal and retinal operations.
WHAT MAKES THE LUMERA OPMI 700 UNIQUE
- the structures of the operated eye are flawlessly visible in-depth and in every detail, even with advanced gray cataracts,
- clear and detailed shots are made possible by a special “retina” system, which also protects against excessive light exposure,
- integrated keratoscope – visualizes/displays corneal astigmatism without additional devices,
- the integrated/built-in video camera serves as a verification tool, but also for possible taking pictures from examinations,
- touch control of the monitor simplifies the operation of the device,
- the ergonomic shape brings freedom of movement and facilitates access to all functions, as well as the use of the microscope in smaller operating theaters.
- a novelty is the control of the control panel of the operating microscope of the feet, but comfortable and at the same time reliable.
Areas of use
Cataract treatment
The Carl Zeiss Opmi Lumera 700 provides an unrivaled view of the anterior segment of the eye with patented SCI illumination, Carl Zeiss optics, and the Carl Zeiss Callisto Eye system. The device is equipped with an IOL alignment function for efficient and more accurate alignment of a toric IOL with lower residual astigmatism.
- IOL alignment option eliminates the need for manual marking: data is transferred to Callisto Eye from Carl Zeiss IOLMaster® to create eyepiece overlays
- The auxiliary functions of the Carl Zeiss Callisto Eye are fully controlled by the surgeon using the foot control panel or handle
- Save time and reduce residual astigmatism by eliminating the need for manual preoperative marking, manual data transfer, and manual intraoperative marking
- Efficient surgery: real-time optimization of light intensity, image magnification, and centering with image quality check
- The coaxial illumination provides a stable and high-contrast red reflex for high detail even in severe cataracts.
Glaucoma surgery
The Carl Zeiss Opmi Lumera 700 reduces cell loss, reduces handling time, and helps the surgeon make quick decisions during surgery. Carl Zeiss Rescan 700 in glaucoma surgery and canaloplasty procedures helps in monitoring stent implants in hard-to-see places.
- Focus Preservation: The automatic XY tracker maintains focus on the target area imaged with OCT and compensates for eye or microscope movements.
- Retinal protection: Built-in retinal protection filter protects the retina from excessive light exposure.
- Maintaining Flexibility: Tilt the microscope head as needed to better view the iridocorneal angle.
Treatment of pathologies of the cornea
The built-in intraoperative OCT allows visualization of the physiological shape of the cornea in two different scanning modes.
- Quickly switch between high-resolution OCT scans (2.9 mm tissue depth) and large overview images (5.8 mm tissue depth) to visualize and assess graft orientation
- Save time with easy graft monitoring: in DMEK procedures, monitor graft orientation and evaluate the interface to the patient’s cornea, and check for correct graft position
- Safe Procedure with the Big Bubble Technique: Improved Incision Depth Evaluation in Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty Using OCT Imaging and Reducing the Risk of Perforation
- The built-in slit illuminator provides four slit widths with the left-right movement of the slit for a better view of the cornea and anterior chamber.
Retinal surgery
When performing retinal surgery, the Carl Zeiss Opmi Lumera 700 microscope provides excellent clarity and a good field of view, as well as an unrivaled view of the anterior segment of the eye, thanks to the patented SCI illumination, Carl Zeiss optics, and the Carl Zeiss Callisto Eye system.
- Built-in intraoperative real-time OCT adds a third dimension when viewing the transparent media of the eye.
- An automatic XY tracker maintains focus on a given area and compensates for eye/microscope movements.
- Possibility to make sure that all necessary membrane remnants are completely removed after removal of the ILM and that there are no holes in the macula.
- Detailed retinal images allow surgeons to quickly zoom in and focus on the area of interest.
