Description

Oculus Myopia Master is the first all-in-one instrument that performs and combines the necessary measurements for the measurement and follow-up of myopia/myopia. Myopia Master is the first instrument in the world that combines the essential things in 1 device. The built-in autorefractor obtains the objective refraction.

“This license agreement is another example of the cutting-edge technology emerging at BHVI. In 2016, BHVI literally “wrote the book” on myopia with the publication of the landmark research report Global Prevalence of Myopia and High Myopia and Temporal Trends from 2000 through 2050 Through our agreement with OCULUS, our research will result in additional tools that optometrists around the world can use to care for people with myopia.”

CEO of BHVI, Yvette Waddell.

Also, the shaft length and the central keratometer values are measured. These measurements are carried out fully automatically and according to the non-contact method. So especially children can be counted quickly and comfortably. Anesthesia is superfluous by this method.

OCULUS Myopia Master records all the essential parameters for the care of people affected by myopia: axial length, refraction values, and the central corneal radii. Leading experts now consider the axial length measurement the gold standard for determining intolerance and is part of the tools of the trade for every myopia expert. This fast, non-contact, and high-precision measuring method is not influenced by accommodation and provides reproducible results for children.

OCULUS Myopia Master Benefits

  • Myopia Management Redefined

It is being able to detect myopia at an early stage is critical. In cooperation with the Brien Holden Vision Institute, the values measured are compared with age-related normative data derived from a database of about 25 000 eyes. The growth curve makes it possible to compare the individual measurement with normative data. The earlier an abnormality trend is recognized, the more efficiently it can be counteracted with appropriate treatments.

The diagram shows the axial length and refraction (spherical equivalents) of an individual patient’s measurement in an easy-to-understand way. The growth curves support the data interpretation.

Vital for your educational sessions: Influencing factors that can stimulate myopia development are documented in the software. A traffic light scale is provided to help visualize critical values.

  • Evaluation-Based

Categorized action recommendations provide a basis for multiple treatment options. The first steps toward success may be achieved through medication or special contact lenses.

Special spectacle lenses and further behavioral recommendations can also be selected.

The following routine appointment can be sent to your customer by email based on the action recommendations.

  • A Report That Leaves no Questions Open

The customer receives a comprehensive, readily understandable report explaining the status quo. In addition to the customer data and measurement results, it intuitively presents the selected action recommendations and progression diagrams.

Along with the customer information and evaluated influencing factors, this does excellent reading for refreshing the customer’s memory.

  • Follow-Up Examinations and Trend Analysis – Treatment strategy and success made it easy to visualize

One or multiple treatment strategies can be selected with a simple click. The effects of axial length growth on refraction with or without the treatment chosen method can be intuitively illustrated in a diagram. Color-coded representations explain the success of treatment to both parents and children.

This provides the customer with an optimal overview of the individual development and a summary of the treatment strategy.

OCULUS Myopia Master combines the most important measurement parameters with other risk factors (ethnicity, myopia in parents, time spent on close work, and outdoor activities) in a specially designed software that makes the detection, treatment, and follow-up of intolerance much easier and more reliable than ever.

The best combination: Refraction, Axis Length, and Keratometry:

Refraction:

The standard method for measuring myopia is refraction. Varying from day to day, measurement results of refraction and the need to be able to measure cycloplegic refraction in children require additional measurements to follow up on myopia.

Axle length:

This can be measured accurately and independently of accommodation. Progression in axial length is a reliable indicator of progression in myopia. Measurement of axial length is the gold standard for myopia follow-up.

Keratometry:

Measurement of the radii of curvature of the central part of the cornea, the primary refractive component of the eye.
